The InVentures Group Inks Major Agreement With Haydale Graphene Technologies To Accelerate Commercialization Of Graphene

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE INVENTURES GROUP INKS MAJOR AGREEMENT WITH HAYDALE GRAPHENE TECHNOLOGIES TO ACCELERATE COMMERCIALIZATION OF GRAPHENE

BUFFALO, NY – July 3, 2014 – The InVentures Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been engaged by Haydale Graphene Technologies Ltd. (Wales) to accelerate the commercial application of Haydale’s patented plasma functionalization technology in graphene, carbon nanotubes, and other high performance nanomaterial systems.

More than 7,000 patents have been issued in the past five years alone covering applications that range from transparent electronics to supercapacitors and advanced batteries, high efficiency solar panels, and ultra-strong composites.  However, to effectively utilize graphene and achieve the full potential of the material, it must be functionalized, dispersed, and easily incorporated into other materials and structures.  This is where Haydale has focused their attention for the past five years and their approach is showing exceptional promise for graphene producers and users around the world.

“Graphene is unquestionably one of the most exciting material discoveries of this century and has astounding intrinsic properties including incredible strength, the highest thermal and electrical conductivity known, and other characteristics that have the potential to impact nearly every industry,” says Keith Blakely, chairman and CEO of The InVentures Group.  “We are very excited to be working with Haydale to accelerate the process of identifying the most promising applications of their technology and materials in commercial applications and to market its presence throughout North America.”

“Haydale’s goal is to be the premier solutions provider in the commercialization of nanomaterials such as graphene that can be dispersed in a target material and provide predetermined material properties to meet client specifications, says Ray Gibbs, CEO of Haydale.  “We are very excited to be working with the outstanding team at The InVentures Group; most of whom have spent their careers developing, scaling, and commercializing advanced materials and understand the challenges and opportunities.  Their reputation, relationships, and network of partners and customers combined with their experience in overcoming the hurdles that face companies introducing new materials into established markets will serve Haydale well as we look to expand the impact of our technology and our presence in North America.”

The InVentures Group was been instrumental in the formation of the Graphene Stakeholders Association (GSA) in 2012, which brought together producers, users, and researchers in the graphene community to share ideas, concerns, and collaborate on standards, nomenclature, and metrology; all with the intention of shortening the cycle from discovery to commercial use for this exciting material.  Haydale was one of the first companies to sign on as a member of the GSA and has worked with graphene producers from around the globe to improve the usefulness of their product offerings through Haydale’s unique plasma processing technology.

When you walk into IVG’s offices on the fourth floor of the Innovation Center on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC), you see a wall of logos behind the reception counter.  Each logo represents a company that IVG has assisted – and it’s quite full!

While not every company is located in Buffalo....
